Omtale; Explore Everything – Place-Hacking the City av Bradley L. Garrett

Hørte om boka “Explore Everything –Place-Hacking the City” av Bradley L. Garrett av en bekjent for en god stund tilbake og har til slutt somlet meg til å lese boka.

"Urban explorers, much like computer hackers in virtual space, exploit fractures in the architecture of the city. Their goal is to find deeper meaning in the spaces we pass through every day."

Boka omhandler en fire års periode hvor forfatteren og en gjeng andre utforsker ”off limits” forlatte steder, enten det er undergrunnsstasjoner i London, eller en flybase i USA. Det blir fortalt om flere av utforskningene og hva som driver noen av de som driver med ”urban exploring”, samt det var en del fotografier i boka.


Selv om det merkes i boka at forfatteren er akademiker, er det allikevel fullt brukbar lesing, med noe bakgrunnsstoff og en del utrolig bra bilder.

"As we neared the gate, security was doing its patrol, right on time. We saw the headlights and crouched behind some knee-high sage bushes, scouting around the bush as they went past, like a Scooby-Doo caricature."
